Dr. Schettler received her
degree from The George Washington University and completed her
internship with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. She is currently
fulfilling her post-doctoral requirements under the clinical
supervision of Dr. Gorin. Dr. Schettler has worked with adults and
adolescents from a variety of cultural backgrounds and has trained in
many clinical settings. These experiences allow her to treat and
evaluate individuals with a wide range of psychological issues, which
may include addictions, trauma, and criminal behavior, as well as
depression, anxiety, and relationship and self-understanding
difficulties.
Dr. Schettler is available for
neuropsychological, forensic and immigration, and social-emotional
assessments. She also offers psychotherapy to English- and
Spanish-speaking adults and adolescents from every walk of life.
Most people have unique
questions about themselves to which they cannot seem to find
satisfactory answers. These questions may have to do with relationship
choices, career paths, worries and fears, nagging feelings, or a
seemingly lost identity. In therapy, Dr. Schettler works alongside
individuals to piece together the answers to these questions. She hopes
to help in this process by making space for them to figure out who they
are, if unsure, or become more comfortable with the person they know and
want themselves to be. This kind of self-understanding and
self-acceptance often unlocks the answers to people’s questions.
Sometimes Dr. Schettler will offer an additional nudge to encourage
someone to see things differently than they have in the past. In turn,
their relationships can often become easier and more fulfilling,
enjoyment can be found in their work, and feelings and worries seem more
manageable.
It is Dr. Schettler’s hope to
offer individuals a new perspective on themselves, their relationships,
and their choices. She believes that the perspective she has gained not
only in her training, but also in her experience with many cultures,
many individuals, and many types of problems provides her clients with
the opportunity to understand themselves in a new way.
Dr. Schettler looks forward to
meeting you, discussing your questions, and finding a comfortable style,
frequency, and fee for your work. Please call for a consultation
session.
